Cory Zicolella PPJ 4/4 - 4/11

This week was rather straightforward; I cloned and remade the Playtest survey to our current needs, after getting some questions from the team that should be placed on there.  Rather straightforward, just a time sink.

I also updated the changelog and WIP.  Admittedly, not much was changed between week 10 and now, because we had to get ready for steam and it's release, followed by a week of break.

There wasn't much I managed to do aside from this; I plan to look into more sound sourcing on  the side, and doing the outer environment textures, as well as keeping the playtest survey up to date.  However, getting used to my 17 credit schedule compared to my 12 last term proved a bit difficult, and I had to run all over the place to get homework done and obtain the required class material.  Hopefully it'll go more smoothly and productive next week.

Team PPJ: Spring Break through Week 1

During spring break, our team took a much-deserved rest. Post-Steam-release, we decided as a team to take our hands off development over break in order to allow our game to accumulate feedback and provide us a rough roadmap for areas that need the most attention for polish.

Upon coming back to school, productivity has been mixed. We have updated to Unreal Engine v4.15.1 in order to take advantage of some of the new VR features introduced in this new version. Our CCI team kicked into high gear with documentation, as they have a large document due relatively soon. The DIGM team was slower to start, with one of the reasons given being the need to adjust to a new class schedule. It's not my place as a Team PPJ to judge these reasons. However, most of the DIGM team know what they need to do going forward, and are planning to return to the grind this week.

Overall, not as productive as we would have liked, but we know what needs to be done going forward.

  • Everyone is well rested from break
  • Our game is still on Steam and you can buy it
  • DIGM team was slow to get back into the groove
  • Productivity was lower that hoped

Tyler Schacht PPJ 4/4 - 4/11

Not much has been done on my part, unfortunately.  I have started to look into 3D widgets since that was one of our main reasons for switching over from 4.13 to 4.15, however, 3D widgets have been around as experimental since approximately UE4.4.  So information is scattered and wildly different date ranges.

Total Hours:
- Research: 2 hours

Positives: My schedule this term is a bit easier to manage work for Senior Project.

Negatives: I did not do anything substantial this first week.

Daniel Ingman PPJ 4/4 - 4/11

This week, I didn't get much done visually. We had a meeting on Sunday to get everyone back in the swing of things and plan out what needs to get done, but I personally didn't get anything done for the project, unfortunately. I will be making up for this deficit next week.

Total hours spent:4
  • Meeting: 3 hours
  • Administrative tasks: 1 hour
  • Everyone is ready to work
  • Lack of visual updates from me

Cory Zicolella Spring Break PPJ

We spent the break destressing from the efforts of the steam release and the Beta presentation, and awaited results of the reviews from our game to come in, so we could improve moving forward.

We find it very important to do this, to keep up morale, and most of all, to keep putting our best foot forward with everything we do.  Needless to say, nothing was much done over break.

Mike Cancelosi 4/4 - 4/11

This week I iterated upon the glass shell texture. I did a lot of different things that I didn't like and I finally settled on something that I'll probably change again tommorow.

We also updated to 4.15 which was fairly straight forward.

Pros: Eh
Cons: Don't really love the progress I made.

Hours Spent : ~10

Mike Cancelosi SPRING BREAK update

I did nothing. It was glorious

Pros: All of it

Ryan Badurina: 4/4 - 4/10 PPJ

Welp, first week of the first term has gone, and what was done?

Technically nothing on my part.  Reason?  My mom was in the hospital for a good 2 days (I have the medical records), and I had to rush to the hospital after school Tuesday to make sure she was okay.  She was released the next day, and ever since I have been taking care of her whenever she needed anything until the days I had to leave for school.  Needless to say, this week was just bad luck all over for me, so I couldn't get anything done for a good few days until my Mom started feeling better.

Also, with this week being week 1 of the new term, the team has been trying to figure out a set time and schedule to meet and go over the duties for the week.  We hope to fully resume production after our meeting tomorrow.

Total Time:
-Player Platform Texture Update: 0 Hours
-Player Platform Material Update:  0 Hours
-Taking care of Mother (in and out of Hospital):  30 Hours

-Since when is my Mom being sent to the hospital ever a good thing?

  -See above...

Ryan Badurina: Spring Break PPJ

Well, this will be relatively short while being late.

So, what happened during Spring Break?  Well, absolutely nothing.  For one, I wanted to enjoy myself after an extremely stressful term, and two, with the release of our game on Steam, we wanted to get some feedback so we can then make proper adjustments and additions for the last term of development.

Was it productive?  Not for our game itself, but I did spend time learning Unreal Engine more and creating more assets for future use.

Total Time:
  -Spring Break: 0
  -Sleep:  0

-Refreshed and somewhat ready for the new term.

-I wish the break was longer.

Tyler Schacht PPJ (Spring Break)

As a group, we collectively agreed to take it easy during Spring Break.

So, I spent my time happily beating Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.

Daniel Ingman PJJ (Spring Break)

Over Spring Break, I did nothing. The primary reason for this was because, after we launched on Steam, we wanted to allow our game to gather feedback and provide us a roadmap for Spring Quarter polish. A secondary reason for this was because I became ill and spent a good portion of my break bedridden.

Total Hours: 0
  •  Spring Break: 0
  • Illness: 0
  •  I visited Valve
  • I was sick
